Why study this course

Students will receive a hands-on education across various formats, including high definition video, and will have access to a state of the art cinema. Students will learn how to work in a team to bring visions to life on the screen, as well as gain a thorough grounding in the history, practice and critical analysis of film. Students will have the choice of electives in editing, producing, cinematography (including a film elective), directing and production design, among many others. They will also take courses in screen production and screen distribution, which will help them learn about finding support and audiences for their screen production work. The academic studies will be enhanced by regular exposure to national and international artists-in-residence working in different areas of film and screen media production, as well as a supervised work placement.

Course was good. Covered alot of different genres within film. However the focus was mostly on film and studio tv, did not really cover much reality television which is where alot of work is. May have changed now though. Equipment was decent and workshops for editing software use was a good start.

Student review
Didn't disclose additional 3rd year fees, no real mentoring, cliquey, favouritist and like a high school within a university. Balance between theory and practice not real. Needs a major overhaul and better standards and practices to give students a really great experience.
