Why study this course

A common first year of study provides a broad skills base, and students develop sound theoretical knowledge and gain opportunities for hands-on practical experience. Engineering design, communication and project management are central to the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). Students undertake a full-year thesis in the final year, completing a significant research project. Students choose one of the five majors: civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic, computer systems, or chemical engineering and one of the several minors such as sustainability, asset management, embedded systems, maths, physics or software.

This course would be much better received if they gave you a better idea of the difficulties you would encounter trying to find a job upon completion, I believe only around 60% of my classmates were actually employed in our chosen discipline upon graduation, the university should make it very clear to students that there are not jobs for everybody, and to choose your career path wisely based upon the things you actually enjoy doing to avoid ending up in a job that gives you know satisfaction.
