Why study this course

Students study a healthcare discipline that involves the application of ionising and non-ionising radiation for the diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease. Advancements in information technology, digital imaging and instrumentation make medical radiations an advanced and dynamic area of clinical medicine. Graduates may be employed in the public or private health care sector as nuclear medicine technologists, radiation therapists or as radiographers/medical imaging technologists. Students select one of three streams: Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy or Medical Imaging. Students undertake both common and stream-specific subjects throughout the course.
